Today
there are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of different
backup solutions available for entire networks as well as single
folders. While this multitude of backup softwares allows
advanced users to find complete solutions for almost any
problem, it also makes it fairly difficult for normal windows
users to find a good, general backup software that will simply
backup important files and maybe some emails. In this comparison
I have included only a few, well-known Backup Software that can
be used to create backup of your files and emails in an easy
way.
Backup
MyPC
Backup MyPC, formerly known as Backup Exec Desktop, is a popular
backup software that was originally created by Veritas but is
now being sold by Stomp. This backup software allows windows
users to create backups of files and folders as well as system
settings.
GoBack
GoBack by Roxio lets you restore previous verions of files and
can track files automatically. GoBack includes password
protection and can be used to easily restore system files and
settings.
Retrospect
Retrospect by Dantz supports DES encryption as well as
compression and spanning. Retrospect can be used to backup files
and folders, and can also backup registry entries.
WinBackup
WinBackup by LIUtilities is a new backup software for home or
corporate users. WinBackup includes features such as compression
and 256 bit AES encryption and also supports different medias
including USB drives, CDs and DVDs.
